Fun Fridays – Director’s Favourite Films – Lasse Hallström
Hello Film Doctor friends.
This our belated Fun Friday post for this week, honoring “the Swede in Hollywood”, Director Lasse Hallström (“Chocolat“, “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape“, Oscar-winner “The Cider House Rules”), whose latest release – “The Hundred-Foot Journey” – hits the UK screens as of 05th Sept. 2014.
One of his favorite movies is the Woody Allen classic Annie Hall:
“That’s my favorite romance movie […] It’s also one of my favorite movies ever because it tells very truthfully about love, with a great sense of humor.”
Hallström might not cite a lot of favourite movie titles in his interviews, but he does share his film type preferences:
“I do LOVE stories that are driven by characters, by people. I do hate stories that are driven by plot. […] I’m more into the small, small moments, that ring true; reactions that are authentic” – as shared in an interview for Collider.com
