Fun Fridays – Director’s Favourite Films – Joe Dante

Hi Film Folk!

With a seasonal re-release of Gremlins scheduled for this weekend, The Film Doctor Team have chosen the man himself for this week’s Fun Fridays:

Joe Dante.

Joe is not only famous for the Gremlins movies but such classics as The ‘Burbs, The Hole and the classic spooky children’s TV show Eerie Indiana. Watch the films that inspired his humourous and creepy mind. Surprisingly there aren’t many B movies on his list at all!

Here is Mr. Dante’s list:

1.  Citizen Kane (Welles, 1941).

2. City Lights (Chaplin, 1931).

3. 8 1/2 (Fellini, 1963).

4. Les enfants du paradis (Carne, 1945).

5. The Dead (Brakhage, 1960).

6. Rashomon (Kurosawa, 1950).

7. Psycho (Hitchcock, 1960).

8. Raging Bull (Scorsese, 1980).

9. The Searchers (Ford, 1956).

10. Once Upon a Time in the West (Leone, 1968).
